Our story

With more than a decade of experience in a corporate environment supporting independent business owners spanning four continents, we would love to write the book on “there is no one-size-fits-all for small businesses!”  We recognize and thrive on the fact that every business has a unique range of challenges.
 
Working with independents continues to provide us with an amazing opportunity to really dig deep into one-on-one consultations and custom plans – allowing for a true agency style relationship.

Meet the #bosslady

With a background spanning marketing, communications, client relations and vendor management, Colleen can't imagine doing anything else with her life right now.

Her passion for working directly with clients who hold their potential within their own grasps, along with a work-hard play hard attitude, make down2be the ONLY place to be!

Before launching the consulting group, Colleen led the marketing division with Management Recruiters International, Inc. the world's largest executive recruitment franchise organization. Prior to that, she was a purchasing agent at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. She holds a BS in Marketing Management & International Business at Drexel University, in addition to PA Real Estate Salesperson and Registered Investment Advisor licenses.

Colleen is an avid traveler and selfishly enjoys the opportunity to do business across many regions of the world. While home in Philadelphia she spends much of her free time with her family and working to be her best self yet. She's also a lover of yoga, spinning and dance.

Michael Mahoney

Ever since he was young, Michael was a natural sales person.  Whether it was trading baseball cards or buying items at yard sales and then selling them for a profit, he always seemed to come out on top in the deal!  Michael graduated with a double major in Marketing and Management from the University of Delaware in 2006.

Upon graduation, Michael was relocated to Las Vegas, NV where he would help to lead his organizations’ expansion to the West Coast.   Over his 9 years in Nevada, Michael had built a very successful career within a Fortune 300 Company helping small businesses with their HCM needs.

Now back on the East Coast, Michael’s passion for working with small businesses continues with down2be.  He is passionate sports fan and avid golfer.  In his free time, he loves to travel and go camping, along with spending time with family and his beloved chocolate lab, Autumn.

Matthew Kokoszka

Creative Specialist

Matthew has quite the varied background, spanning a variety of corporate operations and specialized events positions over the years. He is also a respected Philadelphia-based performing singer/songwriter with three recorded albums under his belt.

Creative collaboration is definitely a leading passion of Matthew's. With that, he has a love of working with a natural, thoughtful eye to bring his client's vision to life. His warm colorful nature and keen eye for detail add an amazing element to the down2be team!

His most recent professional experience includes an active administrative coordinator position within the Consumer Marketing department at Comcast Corporation, a global media and technology leader. Prior to Comcast he had worked closely with the #bosslady at Management Recruiters International, Inc., supporting projects across marketing, finance, and operations.

Jaclyn Branconi

Spending years as a relationship liaison in the medical and dental marketing field, Jaclyn is skilled at building and nurturing both client and partner relationships. Her ability to spot new trends and her keen eye for detail make her an invaluable asset to our support team. Jaclyn's drive and work ethic has allowed her the opportunity to be a work from home mother of a 17 month old daughter. In her free time (yes, limited with a toddler!) she enjoys spending time with extended family, traveling, and seeking new adventures in the Greater Philadelphia region.
